Ngorongoro Crater provides an unforgettable opportunity to explore one of the world’s most unique and biodiverse wildlife ecosystems. Often referred to as the Garden of Eden, the crater is home to various animals within a stunning, expansive caldera, including lions, elephants, buffaloes, and rhinos. This safari allows you to experience both the lush landscape of the crater floor and the beautiful surrounding highlands.
The drive from Arusha to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area takes about 5 hours.
Upon arrival, you will check into your accommodation and enjoy an afternoon game drive within the crater. This is a fantastic opportunity to witness incredible wildlife, including zebras, hippos, buffaloes, and the rare black rhino, all set against the unique and stunning landscape of the crater floor.
You will conclude your day by enjoying a beautiful sunset over the crater before returning to your lodge.

After breakfast, you will return to the Ngorongoro Crater for another exciting game drive. The early morning hours are ideal for wildlife sightings, as animals are most active during the cooler temperatures. During this drive, you will explore key areas of the crater, including Lake Magadi, famous for its flamingos, and the hippo pool, where you can observe large groups of hippos lounging in the water.
You will also have the opportunity to spot more of the Big Five as well as elephants, giraffes and wildebeests.
Around midday, you will take a break for a picnic lunch in the crater, surrounded by nature, before continuing your safari. In the afternoon, you can return to any areas you may have missed or relax and enjoy the stunning views.
In the late afternoon, you will begin your journey back to Arusha, reflecting on the unforgettable experiences of the day. You will arrive in Arusha in the evening.
